Section 3: Cervical Screening Services
This section contains information, policies, and standards of practice for both individuals and service providers. It applies to community, primary and secondary healthcare services.
Section 5: Providing a Laboratory Service
This sections relates to the provision of oncogenic human papillomavirus (also known as high-risk or hrHPV) testing, cervical/vaginal cytology and histology services for the NCSP.
Section 6: Providing a Colposcopy Service
This section (Section 6) of the NCSP policies and standards outlines the roles and responsibilities of the colposcopy workforce and providers of assessment and treatment.
Clinical Practice Guidelines
The Clinical Practice Guidelines for Cervical Screening in Aotearoa New Zealand 2023 have been developed for practitioners providing health services across the cervical screening pathway. The guidelines aim to provide a standardised national approach in order to assist providers to achieve best-practice outcomes.
