The Government’s approach to minimising harm from alcohol and other drug use is set out in the National Drug Policy.

As part of its work to reduce alcohol-related harm, the Government established the Ministerial Forum on Alcohol Advertising and Sponsorship.

The Access and Choice programme allows people to access free mental health and addiction support and services when and where they need it.

These services are contracted through a range of generic and population specific providers, ie, Māori, Pacific, Asian, Mainstream.
