Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora commissions hauora services and te ao Māori solutions across areas such as:  

  • priority populations: supporting kaumātua, rangatahi and tāngata whaikaha Māori.  
  • long-term conditions: supporting whānau to prevent, detect, and manage their long-term conditions like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease, and stroke.
  • cancer care coordination: improving Māori access to screening and specialist services to improve cancer survival rates. 

Funding process  

Our regional teams help to decide the best way to allocate funding to hauora Māori partners for primary and community care services.   

We may request proposals for services or identify hauora Māori partners with capability and experience to deliver services in a specific rohe.
