Connected Health
Connected Health is an existing brand of the Ministry, currently used in relation to the exchange of secure information via telecommunications.
It is an umbrella term for the IT systems and environments that securely share information.
The brand covers the wider sharing of health information. Consumers know that where the Connected Health symbol is displayed, systems and portals collect and access information securely, and can be trusted.
Security of health information is protected by rules in our legislation, particularly the Privacy Act 2020, Health Information Privacy Code 2020 and section 22 of the Health Act 1956.
Health providers such as district health boards also have their own privacy and security policies and information standards provide further security measures.
