AIR Reporting Update
PHOs
PHOs
Primary Health Organisations (PHOs) with data sharing agreements (DSAs) can access four pre-built interactive NHI-level immunisation reports for their enrolled populations and an immunisation summary dashboard using Power BI.
Operational reports
The four operational reports and their key purposes are:
- Immunisation Events Given used to show details of vaccines given at a location within a date range. Currently the last five years of data is returned
- 6-week Immunisation Events Given used to track the uptake of 6-week immunisations during the period from 1 April 2024 to 30 June 2025.
- Childhood Immunisation Planned Events (CHIPE) used to identify the immunisation status of tamariki under the age of 6 years against the National Immunisation Schedule (NIS)
- Youth Immunisation Planned Events (YIPE) used to identify the immunisation status of consumers against the NIS, specifically for 11-year-old Tdap and HPV immunisation events.
Immunisation summary dashboard
The immunisation summary dashboard provides regions and districts with visibility of coverage, including by PHO and general practice. The dashboard also provides information on declined immunisation events.
Feedback and enhancement requests for this dashboard should be sent to the Health New Zealand National Public Health Service (NPHS) Intelligence team at nphsintelligence@health.govt.nz.
Data extracts
The immunisation events given report has replaced the weekly data extracts that were previously sent to PHOs with a DSA via SFTP.
If you are a PHO and require an extract of unenrolled individuals for the purpose of promoting enrolment and tracking newborn enrolment, this can be provided once an addendum to your DSA is signed. Data extracts of your unenrolled population are shared on the first Monday of each month via secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) and not via Power BI. To request the addendum, please contact Immunisation@health.govt.nz.
Access and user guides
Requests for access to the immunisation summary dashboard only or operational reports and the immunisation summary dashboard should be sent to the AIR service desk specifying which access is required and include the approval of your manager.
A detailed user guide is available or each report and includes a data dictionary, known data issues, and information for data analysts. These guides are updated regularly. Please request the most recent guide from the AIR service desk.

- HepB Serology used to identify children who have received a dose of HepB and/or HBIG within seven days of birth. Used to follow up with general practice to ensure that the 9-month serology results are sent to the AIR.
- Match Quality used to investigate record with match quality items on planned events.
AIR admins can access a user guide for each report on the AIR Admin Resources Power BI pages on Confluence.

Immunisation Providers (Primary Care, Pharmacy, Occupational Health and other frontline services)
Immunisation Providers (Primary Care, Pharmacy, Occupational Health and other frontline services)
Providers who use the AIR vaccinator portal have access to a vaccinations [MEDICAL-IN-CONFIDENCE] report which includes a list of the vaccinations that have been delivered at the facilities that you have access to. For privacy reasons, the report can only be used to support reconciling vaccinations given to pharmacy dispensary records, preparing payment claims, or providing a list of employees or contractors who have taken up the offer of privately funded vaccinations.
A guide on how to use this report is available in the AIR vaccinator portal help centre. If you require permission to export the report, you should lodge a request with the AIR service desk.
