Bay of Plenty

Health NZ provides pharmacy services to inpatients within Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospitals.

We do not dispense outpatient prescriptions except when completing a course of hospital-funded medications on discharge.

We support hospital staff by providing the following inpatient pharmacy services:

  • Medicine supply
  • Medicines information for hospital staff and patients
  • Patient information on discharge

Our pharmacists regularly visit the inpatient wards to provide medication reviews, medicine management services and advice. Generally, we only dispense to inpatients at Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospitals.

We do not dispense outpatient prescriptions, except for a restricted range of medicines that are not normally available from a community pharmacy.

Inpatient Pharmacy

Middlemore Hospital Pharmacy supplies medications to all inpatients of Middlemore Hospital and other Counties Manukau Health facilities (Manukau Surgery Centre, Franklin Memorial Hospital, Pukekohe Aged Care).

 

Community/Outpatient Pharmacy

Haumanu Pharmacy is located in Middlemore Hospital in Pataka Place. 

 

Clinical Pharmacy

Pharmacists provide a clinical pharmacy service to all inpatient wards at Middlemore Hospital.  Clinical pharmacists work closely with patients, doctors, nurses and other health professionals and advise on safe and quality use of medicines.  Pharmacists establish medication histories, review medication charts, monitor drug therapy and facilitate supply and access to medicines.

 

Medicines Information Service

The Medicines Information Service consists of a team of experienced, senior pharmacists who are available to answer medication-related enquiries for health professionals in the CMDHB region. The team are available on Monday to Friday from 8am - 4:30pm.

Hawke's Bay

Hawke's Bay

Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital's Pharmacy provides a supply, dispensing and clinical pharmacy service for patients in hospital, wards and departments located at the hospital, Wairoa Health and Central Hawke's Bay Health Centre and other Health NZ services.

A medicines information service is available for health professionals based in either Health NZ facilities or in the community.  

The department is located on the ground floor adjacent to the Emergency Department at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital.

Opening hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The department is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. A pharmacist is on-call after hours.

We do not dispense outpatient prescriptions except when completing a course of non-funded medication on discharge.

We support hospital staff by providing the following inpatient pharmacy services:

  • Medicine supply
  • Medicines information for hospital staff and patients
  • Patient information on discharge

Our pharmacists regularly visit the inpatient wards to provide medication reviews, medicine management services and advice.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 4.30pm. Closed on weekends and public holidays.
