This report by Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu shares findings from a qualitative study which aimed to achieve a deeper understanding of the place of food in the complex lives of whānau, including what ‘eating well’ means, barriers and enablers to eating well, and understanding the perspectives of rangatahi and intergenerational insights about food culture in Aotearoa. The study compared a new mara kai food gardening project, Kōanga Kai, with four other well-established programmes to support access to healthy kai.
