This document presents the required data standards for suppliers and items master data in the Health System Catalogue. The purpose is to establish a common language to enable key supply chain data to be shared and used between Health NZ, Pharmac and suppliers.

This standard is maintained by a national working group, including GS1 New Zealand, first convened in 2020 by NZ Health Partnerships when establishing the Health System Catalogue. The present scope of the data set is medical devices. This will be extended to other item types and services as the Health System Catalogue develops.

The Health System Catalogue is used to support procurement, purchasing, distribution and consumption as part of the Health Finance, Procurement and Information Management (FPIM) operational platform.

2024 revision of the standard
