The current Tier one (2014) and Tier two (2016) service specifications on this page fulfil requirements under the Pae Ora Act for the Public Health Agency to specify public health programmes.1
These documents are overdue for review. However, in the interim and until they are reviewed/replaced they remain the PHA’s expectations of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora for the commissioning and delivery of public health services and programmes. The PHA recognises the need for some flexibility in the interpretation and application of these service specifications in terms of commissioning and delivery of services considering the evolving nature of the public health system.
The Public Health Agency in collaboration with Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora will soon start a review of these documents.
