As part of the last week’s Budget 2024 announcements, the Government announced a Mental Health and Addiction Community Sector Innovation Fund will be established to provide funding for time-limited, innovative approaches to support the mental health and wellbeing needs of New Zealanders. Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora will be responsible for establishing and administering the fund. We are currently working through some of the requirements for the fund including how it will be administered and the key criteria for the funding.

It is expected the funding will be made available through a contestable process that will be accessible through the Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS) website: www.gets.govt.nz. If you wish to be notified about funding opportunities relevant to your service or initiative, you can register with GETS through the website by clicking on ‘create new account’.

Health New Zealand will also update this information over the coming weeks as additional details are worked through.
