Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand has today announced the appointment of Jeremy Holman as Chief Infrastructure and Investment Officer.

 

Announcing this permanent appointment, Te Whatu Ora Chief Executive Fepulea’i Margie Apa said she was pleased to have Jeremy’s broad experience in the managing and oversight of large infrastructure programmes.

 

In taking up this role, Jeremy will be providing national leadership for the planning and delivery of capital projects across the motu - currently there are over 100 projects representing nearly $6.7 billion in funding, with $4.9 billion of that approved for delivery and the remaining for projects in the pipeline and yet to be approved.

 

This role is critically important to leading work with the sector to complete the National Asset Management Plan and advising the Board and the Government on an approach to capital planning and prioritisation that takes a medium to long term view of population and health service needs while also ensuring the timely delivery of projects. The role will partner with iwi, construction sector partners and clinical and service leadership to ensure health assets are fit for delivery now and in the future.

 

Jeremy is currently the GM Infrastructure Delivery for Crown Infrastructure Partners, with responsibility for the delivery oversight of $6 billion of major infrastructure programmes.

 

Arriving in New Zealand from the United Kingdom in 2009, Jeremy started with GHD as an infrastructure strategy consultant. He moved to the Downer Group, where as a GM, Jeremy ran Downer’s water sector business throughout the country.

 

Jeremy held senior roles at Auckland Council and Air New Zealand where he worked alongside airport companies and other local stakeholders on the expansion and redevelopment of many of New Zealand’s regional airports.

 

He started his career as a Royal Engineer officer in the in the British Army where he held a variety of leadership roles delivering critical infrastructure and large-scale construction programmes. He was awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire in the 2007 Queen’s Birthday Honours.

 

Jeremy holds an MBA Master of Business Administration, is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (UK).  

 

He begins his new role at Te Whatu Ora on 5 December.
