My Health Record

My Health Record provides secure access to a selection of your health information, including immunizations, COVID-19 test results, and certain details from your NHI. Many parents of tamariki (children) under 12 with a New Zealand birth certificate can add their child to their account to view key health information, such as immunization records and some NHI details. We are continuously expanding to offer greater access to your records, with more information and features becoming available over time.

My Health Record uses My Health Account as the authenticator for consumers to safely and securely access their personal health information.

Pacific Health Scholarships

Pacific Health Scholarships

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Pacific Health Scholarships support the development of our Pacific health and disability workforce. The Scholarships contribute to tuition fees for eligible students of indigenous Pacific Islands descent undertaking a course in medical and health or disability-related studies, accredited by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).

My Health Account is used by applicants to register, login, submit applications and track application status.  Pacific Health Scholarship will not have access to any personal health information.

Piki Te Ora

Piki Te Ora

The Piki Te Ora app enables individuals with long-term health conditions in rural and remote areas of New Zealand to effectively monitor their health from home. Through the app, patients receive daily notifications to complete a symptom survey and perform a health vitals scan, which records metrics such as blood pressure, heart rate, breathing rate and oxygen saturation levels. Piki Te Ora is currently in pilot mode until July 2025.

How your My Health Account information is used

  1. Patient Authentication: Piki Te Ora app uses My Health Account to verify patient’s identity when logging into the Piki Te Ora app. Once logged in, care plans are matched to patients via their NHI (National Health Index) number.
  2. Clinician Access: My Health Account Workforce serves as the authenticator for clinicians accessing the patient view portal, allowing them to view the health data collected by their patients.

Tātai Iwi Affiliation Collection

Tātai Iwi Affiliation Collection

Tātai is a tool designed to collect iwi affiliation data from Māori at key touchpoints across the health system. It aims to improve health outcomes by enabling iwi and the health sector to better understand the distribution of Māori, allowing for more effective allocation of collective resources. While the project is led by Manatū Hauora, its governance includes Māori data experts from DataILG, Te Puni Kōkiri, the Ministry of Education, StatsNZ, and Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora.

Tātai uses My Health Account as the authenticator for linking an individual’s NHI number to their iwi.

Tuhi is an AI-Enabled Medical Transcription Assistant that enhances the efficiency and accuracy of medical documentation processes for clinicians. This aims to reduce the administrative burden on healthcare professionals.

Tuhi uses your details to log you in and verify your HPI CPN (common person number) so you can have consultations transcribed and linked to a patient.

Provider View

Provider View is a modern web application which gives health care providers access to interoperable health data including FHIR forms and care plans. Provider View aims to support unique clinical use cases and user groups in an easy and efficient way. Use cases and functionality on Provider View will continue to grow, it is important to note that Provider View does not replace patient management systems.

Voluntary Bonding Scheme

Voluntary Bonding Scheme

The Voluntary Bonding Scheme (the Scheme) is a practical financial incentive initiative run by Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) to encourage recently qualified health professionals to work in the communities and specialties that need them most, and to retain essential health professionals in Aotearoa New Zealand. Each year during an annual intake (usually 6 weeks in duration) health professionals can register their interest for the Scheme, and if they are accepted, they can commence bonds, and become eligible to apply for payments after three, four, and five years of service.

How your My Health Account Workforce information is used

For the first time, in 2024, Health NZ utilised a requirement for prospective registrants to have a My Health Account or My Health Workforce Accounts as a secure platform to facilitate registration to the Scheme, via a PowerApps system.

The Voluntary Bonding Scheme uses your information to securely log you in, verify your identity, and provide you with secure access to the Scheme registration portal.

Health Advisory and Regulatory Platform (HARP)

The Health Advisory and Regulatory Platform (HARP) supports the administration of regulatory schemes, such as the regulation of vaping, herbal smoking and smokeless tobacco products and the Assisted Dying service.

How your My Health Account Workforce information is used

HARP uses your details to support the administration of the regulatory scheme you access (Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990, or the End of life Choice Act 2019) on the HARP platform.

If you’re part of the vaccinating workforce, the Workforce Requests’ web portal allows you to apply online for vaccination authorisation and review your application and its status.

The Workforce Requests’ portal uses your details to create a personal profile so you can submit health workforce requests, monitor the status of your submitted requests, and communicate with Health NZ.

The Aotearoa Immunisation Register (AIR) is replacing the ageing National Immunisation Register. It helps control the spread of infectious diseases by providing information about immunisation coverage across the population and keeping a record of the vaccinations New Zealanders have received or chosen not to receive.

NZ Health Terminology Service (NZHTS)

The NZ Health Terminology Service (NZHTS) is a free service for all New Zealand health entities and their digital health service industry partners. It is a one-stop source of the standard terminologies and code sets for Aotearoa’s health system.

NZHTS uses your details to create a user profile for access to standard code-sets for our health system in Aotearoa and to email you about new content and features.
