Over the next year we will implement additional functionality and enhancements to the AIR. The changes will be made available through planned releases. All AIR users will receive updates regarding the functionality changes and enhancements before they are implemented.

Quarter 2 Update 2024

The Aotearoa Immunisation Register (AIR) is our national register for vaccination activity. The Aotearoa Immunisation Register (AIR) provides information about immunisation coverage across the population and holds records of the vaccinations New Zealanders have received or chose not to receive.

The AIR is being delivered using an agile methodology. This means that we are still working to improve the AIR through both introducing greater functionality and addressing any issues that have arisen post cutover throughout 2024. Through quarter two of 2024 (April-Jul) the AIR team is working to deliver increased functionality across all components of the AIR ecosystem including the vaccinator portal, administration portal and reporting.

For the vaccinator portal, the focus lies on improving functionality when working across facilities and granting access to a facility as well the ability to view planned events. For the administration portal we are continuing our focus on improving match quality and addressing records that have been flagged as data quality items.

We’ll also be working with PMS vendors to make quality of life updates of integration pathway users. Continued focus remains on supporting other software such as clinical patient portals to integrate with the AIR and we expect the first major steps to support this work will be completed during this quarter.

Please note that this roadmap is broadly indicative and is subject to change.
